Male Brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni)
They never settle with their wings open. This makes it difficult to capture satisfactory images of the dorsal wing surface. Here the butterfly is captured in flight and the butter-yellow dorsal wing surface with its characteristic orange spots can be seen.
